Apple Pay has been officially launched in Germany. We have previously reported that Apple Pay would come to Belgium.
In addition to Belgium and Kazakhstan, Apple Pay is also live in Germany. We still hope that this will also become available to the general public in the Netherlands in the short term. A small number of people can already use it in the Netherlands through a temporary option within BUNQ.
This option at BUNQ is quickly closed again. It is true that this shows that it is technically possible to run Apple Pay. So we have to wait for the green light from the banks or Apple.
It is not entirely clear what is holding back this new standard, but we hope for a little bit in 2018. ;-)
